Best Weight Loss Supplements

So, you may be wondering what supplements have I seen results from? This is my list of the best weight loss supplements that worked for me and my experience with them. I am not including a list of supplements that did not work as truly I do not remember them all and Let’s face it, we want the good ones right? 

What Worked For Me

Before supplementing I had lost the bulk of my weight already through changing my carb intake and incorporating exercise. The supplements I used below were to move past the Plateau stages so many that lose weight experience. As with any and all diet disclaimers, all changes to your diet and supplements should be approved with your doctor.

Green Tea

I am putting Green Tea as my number one go to supplement for weight loss. I have to say this is the one I reach for when I get sluggish for a boost or need to pick up the pace. It has proven time and again to give me results and move my body in the right direction if I veer off path a bit. The only constant in life is change and this helps me adapt when I have not been able to adjust the course otherwise.

I have coupled this with the Green Tea supplement when I had a Plateau that I wanted to move past. I was looking to lose another 10 to 15 lbs a couple of years back and this worked really well together. I also found some supplements that came with coconut oil that was nice. I didn’t notice any difference between the two but I was able to work off the weight I wanted to and got to my goal within a month.

Multi Vitamins

A good Multi Vitamin is important to make sure your body is receiving the support it needs to run properly while dieting. If you aren’t able to process the food you are putting in your body because you are lacking in vitamins and minerals from the start, you are not going to get results as quickly and may end up ill.  They also give you great energy when you take them regularly!

Turmeric / Black Pepper Combo

Trying Turmeric for the first time was in a tea and not the most enjoyable experience. This is very potent and if you want a pill form there are some good ones out there. The quality pills cost a bit more but may be worth the investment, especially if you have inflammation you would like help with at the same time. The combo of pepper with the turmeric is to help absorption and so should be taken together. I enjoy this as a shot in the morning. 1 tsp of turmeric to 1/8 tsp black pepper in about 1.5 oz of water mixed.

Pre and Probiotics

I try to get these into my diet with the foods I eat. Yogurt, bananas, garlic, onion, mushrooms, carrots, kefir and chicory root. Many forms of pill and gummies are available and I have found when I am not able to eat the foods that contain them I will reach for a supplement. If you find one that contains prebiotics as well as probiotics I have the most digestive success with these forms. I have noticed if my guts are not in good shape I have a harder time all around, from fatigue to gas and bloating. You would not think this would be a factor when you are eating so well, but the fact is if you can not break those foods down as easy, they may make you very uncomfortable. I know most people as they get a bit older start the “gives me gas” comment on a lot of foods that are healthier. These do help with this.

Protein Powder

I have used so many protein powders over the years. I really like whey proteins in smaller doses and to cook with. If I want protein pancakes the vanilla whey protein is what I reach for. If I am looking for a smoothy whey is great for that as well, but find the pea protein works great for weight loss. I would recommend getting a single serving dose of the powder you are looking to purchase and try it before you purchase a large container. Some of these can be very strong in flavor. Make sure it works for your purpose as well. Some of the pea protein powders work great in cold applications however if you heat them the pea flavor is too much. If I want a powder that tastes good warm, reach for whey protein. I find this is super yummy as an addition to my oatmeal in the morning. You may want to stay off the soy protein path if you are concerned with estrogen. If you like the idea of extra estrogen go for it but please do not overdo it. Everything in moderation right!

Preworkout Drink Mix

Per workout. When you are able to start a more structured workout routine after the lower impact types to lose weight. I like a few different types. I find they work best when I switch use. When I finish with one canister I will move to a different brand or different product within the brand I like. I find my body reacts better when I switch it up a bit as it is not getting used to the same old thing over and over. I do this if I am working out to build muscle and stay fit.

BCAA – Branched Chain Amino Acids

When I discovered this supplement I was super excited. These are great! They boost your activity like nothing else I have found. Better than caffeine and in combo gives you a workout like you would not believe. The best work out supplements to build muscle and promote an awesome workout!! Ladies please read all workout supplements to ensure they are not male only formulations that could include testosterone.
